playing another solo gig at Prototype (cool NYC artist collective that moved to Patterson, NJ, which has the best algerian, iraqui and peruvian food in the metro area) taught me a lot
playing the Bitter End was a blast

I got emotional. This is the Club where every musician (sideman) new to New York would go and jam to make connections (quite a few went on to play with major pop stars, some becoming their musical directors), so for me to perform my compositions with my band at this club meant a lot to me (I never fit in with the pop crowd). Plus, the sound system was phenomenal.

back in Harlem
Silvana was fun, this time with my Rock kit (we played loud). The set is getting tight.
Staten Island Hippie Commune
had a blast performing at their cafe/book store.
Audience member Jaime Fernandez offered his house for rehearsals. Our performance reminded him of Pat Metheny. What a compliment. I gave him a hug.
Of course it was impossible to leave Staten Island without picking up some great Sri Lankan food
Otto’s was great.
Love playing Rock bars. Used to live around the corner for years but this was the first time I visited.
ShapeShifter
“I see what you're doing: a mix of Weather Report and Rush” (audience member Jared Foles, who leads his own band, Shrine For The Black Madonna and produces out of his studio in Brooklyn)
thanks Raúl for taking the picture
